Moving from Surviving to Thriving
An invitation to rest, be refreshed
and refilled with God,
through Replenish Magazine
Replenish is a Christian magazine for Women that will produce four editions a year for three years. It is written to encourage, challenge and connect women of the Church in NZ. Early Autumn 2023, God planted the seed in my mind of creating this magazine. He named it Replenish and begun speaking to me about the purpose of it. Over the months to come He would talk to me about the content, style and frequency of this magazine. As He opened doors, in faith I would walk through them. The last few months have been a journey of listening to His heart as He led me to write what He desires to share with you, the reader.
As God laid this magazine on my heart, He told me He would give me content for the first edition. After that, He would prompt people to share testimony, a revelation, a praise-story, share photos, or whatever, and the future editions would start to write themselves. I thank you for your faithfulness in doing so as He leads. May you see your sharing as an encouragement, a gift, to the women of the Church of New Zealand. Please send these gifts as He prompts you and we will add them as He leads. All gifts are to be emailed to
‘For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert. Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.’
Filling again by supplying what has been used up.
If you don’t take the time to replenish emotionally, spiritually, physically, environmentally and socially, you will dry up and have nothing left to give.
Replenish is a word that means to refill, recharge and restore.
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
‘For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above — spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].’
It is an invitation to rest, be refreshed and refilled. The importance of making quiet time to be with our Heavenly Father is not only a good thing to do as Christians, but is vital for knowing His voice and being able to do the will of the Father. Spiritual growth is a journey that we must invest in, not only by going to church, reading our Bible and praying, but in growing, developing and maturing through the way we do these things. We live in a culture where we seem to receive crowns of pride for our overloaded days and accomplishments. I believe the season is now here to stop being distracted with busyness, and to enter what He is truly asking of us—no more, no less.
Here’s an invitation to stop doing for God, and to simply grow in spending time with Him, to
truly know Him as a loving Father and how He delights in you, His daughter. In the pages of
this magazine may you encounter the Father’s love for yourself, grow in spiritual maturity,
and go on to produce much spiritual fruit for the Kingdom of God.
